Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 3819
This hadith describes Sa'd bin Ubadah coming to the Prophet with a direct concern. His mother had died while a vow remained unfulfilled. He told the Prophet what had happened, and the answer was equally direct: fulfill it on her behalf. The hadith about a son fulfilling his mother's vow stays focused on one unfinished promise and one clear instruction. Sa'd's action also shows care and responsibility. He did not forget the matter after his mother's death, and he did not decide the answer for himself. He asked the Prophet. The narration then records permission and instruction to complete the vow for her. Readers should keep the explanation tied to this stated case rather than adding details that are not present in the text.
What we learn from this hadith
- Sa'd's mother died with a vow still unfulfilled.
- Sa'd asked the Prophet what to do.
- The Prophet told him to fulfill the vow for her.
