أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " مَنْ قَاتَلَ دُونَ مَالِهِ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ " .

The Prophet [SAW] said: "Whoever is killed defending his wealth, he is a martyr."

This hadith about fighting to protect wealth states that the person who fights in defense of his property is a martyr. Unlike several nearby wordings that explicitly say the defender is killed, this translation says, “Whoever fights to protect his wealth, he is a martyr.” That wording should be presented as it appears here without silently changing it. The main subject is still property defense, not aggression. The person is protecting what belongs to him rather than taking what belongs to someone else.
