Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 4104
This hadith draws a clear line around the honor and safety of a Muslim. The Prophet says that defaming or insulting a Muslim is evildoing, while fighting a Muslim is described with the severe word kufr. The wording shows that harmful speech is not harmless and that physical conflict is even more serious. A believer should control the tongue before an argument grows and should avoid turning disagreement into violence. The hadith about fighting Muslims teaches respect at two levels: protect a person's dignity from abuse and protect the person's body from attack. It gives a short but forceful rule for daily relationships, disputes, and moments of anger.
What we learn from this hadith
- Insulting a Muslim is sinful conduct.
- Fighting a Muslim receives an especially severe warning.
- Arguments should not be allowed to grow into violence.
- A Muslim's honor and physical safety both deserve protection.
