Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 4110
This narration reports that the Prophet said defaming a Muslim is evildoing and fighting him is kufr. It then includes a direct question to Abu Wa'il: did he hear the report from 'Abdullah? Abu Wa'il answers yes. That brief exchange is important within the text because it confirms direct hearing between two people in the chain. The hadith therefore combines a strong moral warning with a clear transmission detail. Muslims are told not to treat insults as harmless and not to turn conflict into fighting. At the same time, the report shows that those preserving hadith asked direct questions to make the route of transmission clear.
What we learn from this hadith
- Defaming a Muslim is described as evildoing.
- Fighting a Muslim carries a severe warning.
- Abu Wa'il confirmed that he heard the report from 'Abdullah.
- The narration records careful attention to direct transmission.
