Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 4130

This hadith against misguidance uses direct language. The Prophet tells Muslims not to return to misguidance after he is gone by striking the necks of one another, meaning killing one another. The text links deadly conflict within the Muslim community to going astray. It is therefore not only a warning about physical harm. It is also a warning about leaving the path of guidance through mutual bloodshed. The hadith does not describe a particular dispute or give extra conditions, so its teaching should stay broad and clear: Muslims must not make killing each other a practice after the Prophet. A practical response is to stop anger, revenge, and conflict before they lead to loss of life.

What we learn from this hadith

  • Do not kill fellow Muslims.
  • Mutual bloodshed is described as a return to misguidance.
  • The Prophet warned the community about violence after him.
  • Stop conflict before it reaches deadly action.
