أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَتَى بَعِيرًا فَأَخَذَ مِنْ سَنَامِهِ وَبَرَةً بَيْنَ إِصْبَعَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ " إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ لِي مِنَ الْفَىْءِ شَىْءٌ وَلاَ هَذِهِ إِلاَّ الْخُمُسُ وَالْخُمُسُ مَرْدُودٌ فِيكُمْ " .
'Amr bin Shu'aib Narrated from:
It was narrated from 'Amr bin Shu'aib, from his father, from his grandfather, that: the Messenger of Allah went to a camel, and took a hair from its hump between his fingers and said: "I am not entitled to take anything from the Fay, not even this, except the Khumus, and the Khumus will come back to you."

Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 4139
This Fay and Khumus hadith gives a simple picture of financial trust. The Messenger of Allah went to a camel, took a hair from its hump between his fingers, and said that he was not entitled to take anything from the Fay, not even that hair, except the Khumus. He added that the Khumus would come back to the people. The tiny camel hair makes the limit easy to understand. The statement rejects taking even a small part outside the allowed share. It also reminds the listeners that the Khumus was not described as a private gain kept away from them. The hadith focuses on restraint, clear entitlement, and returning the designated share among the people.
