Prohibition of Gold for Men

Sunan an-NasaiHadith Number 5149

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ قَزَعَةَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلاَبَةَ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَهَى عَنْ لُبْسِ الْحَرِيرِ وَالذَّهَبِ إِلاَّ مُقَطَّعًا ‏.‏ خَالَفَهُ عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ رَوَاهُ عَنْ خَالِدٍ عَنْ مَيْمُونٍ عَنْ أَبِي قِلاَبَةَ ‏.‏

It was narrated from Mu'awiyah that: The Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade wearing silk and gold, unless it was broken (into smaller pieces).
