It was narrated from Mu'awiyah that : The Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade wearing gold unless it was broken (into smaller pieces), and (he forbade) riding on Al-Mayathir.

Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 5150
This hadith about wearing gold unless broken adds another item to the report from Muawiyah. The Messenger of Allah SAW forbade wearing gold unless it was broken into smaller pieces, and he also forbade riding on Al-Mayathir. The translation does not explain Al-Mayathir, so the best reading here is to stay with the words given and avoid adding details not found in the input. People often search for a hadith about wearing gold, but this report is wider than jewelry. It shows that the Prophet SAW gave guidance on what people wear and even what they ride on. A Muslim should not separate daily comfort from obedience.
