Prophetic Guidance on Charity and Zakat Rules
According to Islamic scholars, these authentic hadiths offer valuable guidance on the core concepts of charity and spending in the path of Allah. The first narration highlights the revelation of Quranic instructions emphasizing that withholding financial support in Allah's cause leads directly to self-destruction, underscoring the necessity of regular charity to maintain community welfare. The second hadith provides a beautiful practical example through the companion Abu Talha. He immediately chose to give away his most cherished property, the Bairuha garden, after hearing that true righteousness is only achieved by spending from what one loves most. Prophet Muhammad highly praised this gesture and advised him to distribute this fruitful property among his own close relatives and cousins. Together, these narrations teach us that true charity requires sacrificing what we value deeply and that supporting family is a highly recommended way to fulfill these noble rules.

Anas bin Malik narrated that: The Prophet Said: “When Allah Created The Earth, It Started Shaking. So He Created The Mountains, And Said To Them: ‘Upon It’ So It Began To Settle. The Angels Were Amazed At The Strength Of The Mountains, So They Said: ‘O Lord! Is There Among Your Creatures One Who Is More Severe Than The Mountains?’ He Said: ‘Yes. Iron.’ They Said: ‘O Lord! Then Is There Anything Among Your Creatures That Is More Severe Than That Iron?’ He Said: ‘Yes. Fire.’ So They Said: ‘O Lord! Is There Anything Among Your Creatures That Is More Severe Than Fire?’ He Said: ‘Yes. Water.’ They Said: ‘O Lord! Is There Anything Among Your Creatures That Is More Severe Than Water?’ He Said: ‘Yes. Wind.’ They Said: ‘O Lord! Is There Anything Among Your Creatures More Severe Than Wind?’ He Said: ‘Yes. The Son Of Adam. He Gives Charity With His Right Hands, While Hiding It From His Left.’”

Abu Hurairah Narrated from:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Anyone whom Allah has given wealth but he does not pay its Zakat, then, on the Day of Resurrection, his wealth will be presented to him in the shape of a bald-headed poisonous male snake with two poisonous glands in its mouth and it will encircle itself round his neck and bite him over his cheeks and say, "I am your wealth; I am your treasure." Then the Prophet (ﷺ) recited this Divine Verse:--"And let not those who covetously withhold of that which Allah has bestowed upon them of His Bounty." (3.180)

Abu Hurairah Narrated from:
A man came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! I am suffering from fatigue and hunger." The Prophet (ﷺ) sent (somebody) to his wives (to get something), but the messenger found nothing with them. Then Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said (to his companions). "Isn't there anybody who can entertain this man tonight so that Allah may be merciful to him?"An Ansari man got up and said, "I (will, entertain him), O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)!" So he went to his wife and said to her, "This is the guest of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), so do not keep anything away from him." She said. "By Allah, I have nothing but the children's food." He said, "When the children ask for their dinner, put them to bed and put out the light; we shall not take our meals tonight," She did so. In the morning the Ansari man went to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) who said, "Allah was pleased with (or He bestowed His Mercy) on so-and-so and his wife (because of their good deed)."Then Allah revealed: 'But give them preference over themselves even though they were in need of that.' Have Taqwa Of Allah! It Is Only The Disbelievers Who Will Be Asked To Return.”He Said: “For That, I Shall Recite To You From The Qur’An: You Who Believe! Let Not Your Properties Or Your Children Divert You From The Remembrance Of Allah. And Whosever Does That, Then They Are With The Losers. And Spend Of That Which We Have Provided You Before Death Comes To One Of You, And Says: “My Lord! If Only You Would Give Me Respite For A Little While, Then I Should Give Sadaqah” Up To His Saying: “And Allah Is All-Aware Of What You Do.” He Said: “So What Makes Zakat Obligatory?” He Said: “When Wealth Reaches Two Hundred Or Above.” He Said: “What Makes Hajj Obligatory?” He Said: “Provisions And A Camel.”(Another Chain) From Ad-Dahhak : From Ibn Abbas, From The Prophet With Similar.
