Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 1013
This hadith about riding near a funeral reports Jabir bin Samurah saying that they were with the Prophet at the funeral of Ibn Ad-Dahbah. The Prophet was on a horse that was moving quickly, while the people were around him, and he was trotting. The narration is descriptive. It does not give a long instruction, nor does it explain a legal rule in the translation. It simply records what happened during that funeral scene. For readers comparing funeral procession hadiths, this report is important because it mentions riding in the setting of a janazah, while other reports in the same batch mention walking or returning on horseback.
