Abu Sa'eed Narrated from:
It was narrated from Abu Saeed that he heard the Messenger of Allah say: "There is no worshipper who fasts a day in the cause of Allah, the mighty and sublime, but Allah the mighty and sublime, will separate his face from the fire by (a distance of) seventy autumns in return for that day."

Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 2248
This narration from Abu Saeed focuses on the reward of fasting one day in the cause of Allah. It is a strong answer for people searching for hadith about fasting one day for Allah or fasting in the cause of Allah. The wording is direct: whoever fasts a day in Allah's cause, no worshipper fasts a day in Allah's cause except that Allah separates his face from the Fire. The distance is described as seventy autumns, which shows the great worth attached to this act in the Hadith. The text does not give extra conditions beyond the phrase "in the cause of Allah," so the explanation should stay with that wording. It teaches that fasting can be an act of devotion connected to safety from the Fire, by Allah's grace.
What we learn from this hadith
- Fasting one day in Allah's cause is given a great reward in the Hadith.
- The reward is described with the distance of seventy autumns.
