Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 2985
This hadith repeats a clear teaching about the middle prayer. Abdullah bin Mas'ud narrated that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "Salat al-Wusta is Salat al-Asr." The value of the narration is in its simple wording. It gives a direct answer to people searching for the meaning of Salat al-Wusta. It also supports the theme of guarding prayer, because Asr is specifically identified by name. The text does not discuss extra rulings or a long background story, so the explanation should remain focused. The practical message is that Asr should be remembered, protected, and not pushed aside by daily work, tiredness, or other concerns.
