Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 3884
This narration from Abu Hurairah gives a direct rule about two agricultural sale practices. The Messenger of Allah forbade Al-Muhaqalah and Al-Muzabanah. Readers often search for Al-Muhaqalah and Al-Muzabanah meaning because the terms are not common in everyday English. This specific hadith, however, does not define them. It simply states that both were forbidden. A careful explanation should therefore keep the focus on the command itself and avoid adding a description from another report without labeling it. The teaching is that a Muslim should not enter a transaction that the Prophet explicitly prohibited. It also encourages a buyer or seller to learn the form of a farm agreement before accepting it. Clear knowledge of the contract helps a person avoid the named prohibited practices.
What we learn from this hadith
- The Messenger of Allah forbade Al-Muhaqalah.
- The Messenger of Allah also forbade Al-Muzabanah.
- A person should understand a farm transaction before agreeing to it.
- The wording should be followed without adding claims not found in the report.
