Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 3885
Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri reports in this hadith that the Messenger of Allah forbade Al-Muhaqalah and Al-Muzabanah. The message is short and firm. These two named forms of agricultural trade were not allowed. When people search for a hadith about fair trade in Islam, this narration is relevant because it places a clear limit on farm-related transactions. At the same time, this particular text does not define the two terms or list every reason behind the prohibition. We should not claim more than it says. Its practical value is that Muslims should identify the type of agreement they are making and avoid any form that falls under these prohibited names. Clear understanding should come before exchanging crops, produce, or rights connected to agricultural land.
What we learn from this hadith
- Al-Muhaqalah is directly forbidden in the narration.
- Al-Muzabanah is directly forbidden in the narration.
- Farm agreements should be identified and understood before acceptance.
- The hadith warns against using prohibited forms of agricultural trade.
