Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 4555
This hadith speaks about unequal exchange in simple examples. Abu Saeed said they used to receive mixed dates and sell two Sa for one Sa. When news of that reached the Messenger of Allah, he said not to sell two Sa of dates for one Sa, two Sa of wheat for one Sa, or one Dirham for two Dirhams. The main topic is riba in barter and money exchange. The hadith is direct and practical. It lists the examples without adding long details. For searches like riba hadith, two Sa for one Sa hadith, and Islamic finance barter rules, this narration gives a clear warning.
What we learn from this hadith
- Two Sa of dates should not be sold for one Sa of dates.
- Two Sa of wheat should not be sold for one Sa of wheat.
- One Dirham should not be exchanged for two Dirhams.
