Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 4556
This hadith repeats an important trade rule through Abu Saeed. They used to sell two Sa of mixed dates for one Sa. The Prophet then said not to sell two Sa of dates for one Sa, two Sa of wheat for one Sa, or two Dirhams for one Dirham. The wording is brief, but it is strong. The core topic is riba in unequal exchange. It is not a general ban on buying food or using money. It targets the direct unequal exchange mentioned in the narration. Searchers looking for unequal barter hadith or riba in dates and wheat will find the rule clearly stated here.
What we learn from this hadith
- The hadith forbids two Sa of dates for one Sa.
- The hadith forbids two Sa of wheat for one Sa.
- The hadith forbids two Dirhams for one Dirham.
